The second most people here the words ‘Milan’ and ‘shopping’ in the same sentence their toes curl in anticipation. I don’t mind Milan. I don’t love it. But I have been quite a few times and I have my usual haunts.
On my last trip, I discovered a treasure in luxury vintage shopping. It is called Cavalli e Nastri. You’ll find it nestled in a small street near La Scala. And it is all my dreams come true: luxury vintage arranged according to colour. And this particular day in Milan was rainy and dreary – so walking into this store was like finding refuge in style heaven.
The interior is bright and eclectic and while there is a lot of stock, it doesn’t feel cramped or overdone. In fact, they have nailed it. Cavalli e Nastri is wall to wall of the most famous international designers. Their items are in stunning condition and each of them is a standalone statement piece. I struggled to find something I DIDN’T like.
To top it all off, the staff were wonderful – they let me take photos and fossick around for ages. I’m really looking forward to going back. This is my new first-stop-shop in Milan.
The boss lady’s pick was extra hard in this store. But I think I’ll go with the YSL navy and white polka dot blazer. It is hard to beat polka dots. In fact, it is impossible to beat polka dots.
